Final Class Project
You can choose to work with a partner or work on your own for this assignment.
There has been two main essential questions that have been guiding your learning all year:
1) How does studying science help me discover my world?
2) Why is science an on-going process?
Assignment: Look at our essential questions. Choose one and research/explain how it relates to real-life examples. You must create a powerpoint presentation with a minimum of 10 slides. You must document at least three sources that you used. Your real-life examples should relate to one of the topics we have discussed in this class. The topics you can choose from are water quality, density, the periodic table, elements and compounds, acids and bases, groundwater and energy transformation.

Acid, Base, Indicators Mini-Project
You will be working with a partner to complete the following task. Imagine you had to give a presentation to a fifth grade class on one of the following topics:
pH Scale
Acid Rain
Acid, Bases, Neutrals
Indicators (PT, UI, pH Paper)
Acid-Base Neutraliztion
Discuss with your partner the important points that should be covered for whichever topic you choose. You may have to do some research on your laptop. I suggest that you have 4-5 important points to discuss. Once you generate a list of important topics to cover, design a creative presentation, (using technology) that you would want to show the fifth grade students. Remember, they are younger than you so your project should be simplified so they can understand it.
You will have the option to present your project to our class.

Mini-Project #1
"What Science Am I?"
You will randomly select a field of science to research and investigate. You will be given some time in class to find out as much as you can about your science. You will then create a poster or illustration that represents it. You must use only pictures and symbols, but they must provide strong evidence that you explored your science thoroughly. Use at least 4 different websites for your research and make sure you cite each website you use. You will need to do this in order to get full credit for your project. Your product must be colored, creative, and neat.
